Rebuilding the original shaft not only requires special tooling, but has proven to be a very difficult and non-confirming aftermarket solution.

Pit has chosen to eliminate the front rubber couplet and replace it with a 1310 universal joint. 1pc aluminum shafts have been offered aftermarket. On the GTS trans yoke is not fixed, it slips and attaches to a flex disc.

We convert this whole mess into a 1310 joint with standard trans yoke and weld. The OE shafts have an inverted front that has pin on Teri-prong tube yoke rather than transmission.

The trans yoke is what accepts nose bushing. The couplet at rear end of assembly is still used on our shaft to eliminate use adapters and also keep dampening characteristics it provides for axle.
